Human Library Gurugram: A Must-Attend Event to Get Inspired, Celebrate Differences and Connect with People

By The Editorial Team

If there’s one thing that living in a metro makes us realize, it’s that humanity is more similar than it would ever like to admit. Despite differences in religion, gender, community or sexual orientation- at our core we all have the same human desire to connect and bond with other people. We desire to be accepted for who we are and to be respected for who we are.

We desire to be accepted for who we are and to be respected for who we are.

The Human Library Gurugram Chapter is a celebration of precisely this sentiment. In the past, the unique and innovative Human Library movement has tasted success in Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai.
The USP of the event is that you will be able to take people on loan, just as you would borrow books from a library. These people are survivors and thrivers. They have lived their lives to the fullest, and will be delightful sharers of knowledge, experience and inspiration.
At the Gurugram event, you will be able to take people on loan, just as you would borrow books from a library.

Don’t forget to attend the event hosted by 91 Springboard on 8th of October, 2017 between 11 am and 6 pm at Plot 23, Maruti Industrial Area, Sector 18, Gurugram.  Find out more details about the event here.
Indspire Me has always been passionate about inspiring India and Beyond. We are absolutely delighted to see initiatives such as this taking root in our cities, and bringing a much needed breath of fresh air to our urban lives. You can look forward to an exciting time on the 8th of October, interacting with like minded people and soaking in the life experiences of the books. Some of the books that you can engage with are:

  • A fighter who has undergone the highs and lows of Drug Abuse and has transformed himself by healing and contributing to recoveries of many more!
  • A gay man who fought battles with himself, family, and society to gain acceptance for his identity.
  • An environmental crusader who is widely acknowledged and identified by the name of ‘Tree Man’, an epitome of inspiration.
  • An HIV fighter, sharing his journey of acceptance, and inspiration to end the stigma and discrimination towards the LGBT community.

The Human Library Gurugram Chapter:  Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover

We think that there is a great lesson to be learnt from the spirit of this event, and that is one of openness.
When was the last time that you were open to stepping outside your comfort zone? When was the last time you dared to talk to a complete stranger? When was the last time that you left your judgemental hat at the door?
Well, now is the time. Don’t let this opportunity to discover something new about yourself and other people pass you by. Go out and connect!
