An Engineer, A Life Coach and an Author: Ajay Kumar Singh shares the One Quality that all Writers should Develop

Blogger, Motivational Speaker and Life Coach, Ajay Kumar Singh turned author with his book ‘Corridors of Life’. In this interview, Ajay tells us how his life changed course, away from his childhood dreams but more aligned to his purpose and passion of writing books to help people, in turn, get closer to their purpose and passions. Read on to learn more.

Hi Ajay! Thanks for taking out the time to talk to us. Please tell our readers about yourself.

Hello. I hail from Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand and have always dreamt of becoming a doctor. However, situations in life turned out so that I trained to become an engineer and finally I pursued my purpose of becoming an author. In my journey, I also started a blogging website, pephour.com, and started my career as a blogger, motivational speaker and a life coach.

What’s your book, ‘Corridors of Life’ all about?

Corridors of life is about basic hiccups we experience and their corresponding solutions. The book revolves around real life examples which the readers can easily connect to. It is more of a motivational manual that helps in aligning with the realities of life and suggests ways to move forward by navigating across problems smoothly.

What inspired you to write this book?

As a motivational speaker and a life coach, I started observing people and I realised that there were only a few common things everyone suffers from, including mental health, career- related issues, relationships, family and money. It inspired me to think more deeply about these issues and write my feelings which I think was different from the rest.

Tell us an interesting fact about the book.

The tag line of the book, “A talk with your own soul” depicts the actual meaning of the book – that it’s a talking book which makes it unique because when read in silence, it would seem that the book is talking to the reader.

Is there anything you find challenging about the writing process?

There are many challenges to writing a book that includes content, language and presentation among others. But the most challenging aspect would be the dedication and there were some phases where I was not sure of what to write about that readers can easily connect to.

Who are your favourite authors?

My favourite authors are Robin Sharma, Napoleon Hill, Joseph Murphy and Norman Vincent Peale.

What’s next for you? Are you working on another book?

A: Currently I’m working on my next book, “The Infinite”, which deals with the social and mental problems faced in society. This book is based on a poetic theme in which every chapter is going to end with beautiful poems related to the chapters.

What does literary success look like to you?

Being an author gives an important image in society. When my words heal someone and help them to achieve their dreams, it’s a success for me every time.

Please share a message with all the aspiring authors out there. What is the one quality they should develop among themselves?

If you are writing a book as a hobby, then it will provide temporary happiness. The one who is thinking to become a successful author needs to see their writing as their passion. Along with it, always look for that content which is your actual imagination. I believe that words have magic to change our lives. I have experienced it and it’s time for others to do as well.
