New Delhi Children’s Hospital & Research Centre (NDCHRC) launches its first clinic in Delhi, sign of good things ahead

By Akanksha Sharma

In a previous interview with Indspire Me, Mr Pratyush Kumar, founder of the New Delhi Children’s Hospital & Research Centre had shared the gaps that he had identified in medical care for children in Delhi. That interview had drawn the interest of thousands of people, and is one of the most popular interviews that Indspire Me has published so far. We drew readers from India, the U.S., Singapore, the UAE, the UK, Australia, Germany and many other countries. This clearly shows that the citizens of India and even people overseas, are really concerned about the state of child healthcare in the country. At the time of that interview, though the passion in Pratyush’s voice shone through about his plans, NDCHRC was merely a vision.

Happy faces at the NDCHRC, Vasant Kunj

However today, I’m happy to share that Pratyush and his team are well on their way of realizing their dreams for a children’s hospital in Delhi that can service underprivileged and vulnerable children, who are most at risk of contracting diseases. On 30th April, 2017 the NDCHRC launched its first not for profit children’s clinic in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. The event was attended by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Councillor -Mr. Manoj Kumar Mehlawat  and IPS(R) and Ex- Director CBI Mr. Debasish Bagchi.

A structure to the vision of providing high quality healthcare to the underprivileged children of Delhi

NDCHRC aiming at correcting behavioural patterns to promote long term good health

NDCHRC provides preventive and curative services to the children of Delhi through its team of specialized doctors. At the same time, it is regularly organizing health camps so as to promote health-seeking and health-enhancing behaviours among the children & parents of Delhi by raising public awareness. General health check ups are conducted at the camps and basic medicines, books and toys are distributed to underprivileged children.

A laudable citizen-driven effort, NDCHRC is taking change into its own hands

One big reason that we at Indspire Me, are in love with and are backing this initiative, is that it rings and resonates so truly with the spirit of Indian change-makers. People like Pratyush and his team are the ones that go beyond mere complaining and armchair proselytizing. They make efforts and take out precious time, energy and resources to mobilize like minded people to create the change that India so badly needs. The least we can do is to champion their cause and to support them.

Yes we can! Change-makers creating the change that we all dream of!
